The Service
What is interior design?
Interior design is the work of shaping how a space looks, feels and functions, from the layout and light through to every finish, fabric and piece of furniture.
At Studio G, interior design starts with listening. Before anything is drawn, Gülçin spends time understanding how you live: who uses each room, at what time of day, what you love and what frustrates you about your home today. That brief becomes the foundation for every decision that follows.
The result is a home designed around you rather than a showroom look. Our style is sculptural and organic, slightly asymmetrical, raw in texture and perfectly imperfect, but the real luxury is in the details you notice every day: how the light hits a worktop at 3:00 p.m., how a drawer opens, how easily a room shifts from family breakfast to evening entertaining.
With over two decades of international experience across America and the UK, Gülçin brings a multicultural eye and a firm commitment to sustainability. True luxury is conscious, built on a 'buy once, buy well' philosophy, so the pieces chosen for your home are made to last.
Why it Matters
The cost of getting it wrong
Designing a high-end home without professional guidance often costs more than the fee you were trying to save.
Expensive pieces that don't work together
Buying room by room without a scheme leads to furniture, finishes and colours that compete rather than complement, and costly replacements later.
Layouts that fight daily life
Poor circulation, badly placed sockets and lighting that only works in one mood are hard and expensive to fix once building work is done.
Decision fatigue
A single room can involve hundreds of choices. Without a clear vision, projects stall and budgets drift.
Short-lived trends
Following a trend rather than a brief dates a home quickly. Timeless design built around your life lasts far longer.

Common Questions
Interior Design FAQs
Do I need an interior designer for a new build?
+
Many of our clients come to us at new-build stage. Getting a designer involved early means layouts, electrics, lighting and joinery are planned properly before they're fixed, which is far cheaper than changing them later.
Can you design just one room?
+
Yes. No job is too small or too large. Single-room projects such as a kitchen, bathroom or home office are welcome.
What style do you design in?
+
Our signature is sculptural, organic and timeless, but every scheme is shaped by the brief. The aim is a home that reflects who you are.
Which areas do you cover?
+
We are based in Ashtead and work across Surrey, including Leatherhead, Epsom, Cobham, Esher, Weybridge, Guildford and Godalming, as well as Wimbledon and London, with select projects nationwide and internationally.
How much does it cost?
+
Fees are based on project scope and complexity, typically a fixed fee or a percentage of construction cost. You receive a detailed proposal after the complimentary consultation, so you know exactly where you stand before committing.
Is the first consultation free?
+
Yes. Every project begins with a complimentary site visit and project appraisal, at no cost to you.
How long will my project take?
+
Timelines depend on scope, lead times and building work. Your programme is discussed at the consultation and confirmed in your proposal.
How do payments work?
+
A deposit of 50% of the agreed fee is taken at the Engagement stage, once you have approved the vision, scope and contract.
Do you offer an emergency or same-day service?
+
We are a design studio rather than an emergency service. Call 07540 520716 or send an enquiry and we'll come back to you.
